Hi, I’m Dr. Karen (Washington) Caffee.

I want to make the world a better place, one sex life at a time. That has been my personal goal in this work for over a decade. You are the expert on your life, and I’m the sexpert. Sometimes, clients just get stuck and need some assistance to see a path forward - that’s where I come in. We work together to find your path forward with tools specific to your unique concerns.

I work with a range of concerns: differences in sex drives/motivations, out of control sexual behavior, painful sex, having good sex, communication and pleasure enhancement, sexual dysfunctions/disorders, sex before/during/after baby, sex after breakup/divorce, and sex later in life. I also work with overall intimacy enhancement, infidelity work, and anything else that may be negatively impacting your relationship.

I am LGBTQ+, kink, and CNM/ENM aware and affirming in practice.

I am entranced by people, their self-esteem, and how they communicate. I see self-esteem, communication, and sex as intrisically interconnected - and I am committed to helping you work through your personal obstacles to attain a fulfilling intimate and/or sex life by teaching better communication, coping skills, self-esteem, and sex education to enhance your understanding and enable you to thrive.

Hi I’m Jae Avilez!

As a therapist, I bring a blend of warmth, curiosity, and intentional challenge to my work. I’m equal parts cheerleader and accountability guide—someone who will hype you up and hold space for the hard stuff. My approach begins with presence: a grounded energy and a genuine interest in who you are and what brought you here. From there, I help you explore not just what happened, but why, how it felt, and how you’d like to change or take meaningful ownership.

As a couples therapist, I use a Queer lens to help couples and polycules work through their concerns. My technique is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps us identify attachment wounds, name the cycle you’re stuck in, and push for real shifts in behavior, mindset, and beliefs. I work with couples of all identities, ages, and issues—nothing is too small, big, or complicated to bring into the room.

As an individual therapist, my focus is more niche. I use IFS to work with BIPOC queers who need extra support navigating life—and I do it at an affordable cost. I work with white folks to help deconstruct their whiteness, and with men to unlearn misogyny and reconnect with themselves and others. I also offer neurodivergent coaching for folks who need guidance with executive functioning, social situations, and other atypical experiences.

I really love my job, and I put as much as I can into it. My clients do the same. You have to want to be in the room to grow—and if you do, I’ll meet you there, fully present and ready to safely navigate the unknown.
